National prostitution investigation results in arrests in Secaucus
The Secaucus police, in partnership with the FBI Newark Division, on June 22 arrested four adults for allegedly engaging in prostitution at a local hotel. A fifth individual was arrested for allegedly engaging in a massage business without a proper license, according to a police statement issued to local officials.
According to the statement, the primary goal of the operation was to rescue juvenile victims from sexual exploitation, as well as identify any person(s) engaging in prostitution.
The arrests were made as part Operation Cross Country VI, a three-day nationwide law enforcement effort led by the FBI to address child sex trafficking. Across the country 79 child victims of prostitution were recovered and more than 100 pimps were arrested.
However, in Secaucus, no juvenile arrests were made and no juveniles were identified during the local operation.
According to the statement from the Secaucus police, those arrested in Secaucus for alleged prostitution included two women from North Carolina, a Jersey City woman, and a Teaneck woman. A West New York woman was arrested for allegedly engaging in a massage business without a proper license.

Do you have an old yearbook you would like to donate to the NJ Room?
Cynthia Harris, manager of the New Jersey Room at the Jersey City main library, has been developing the yearbook collection for the last 10 years, pursuing that maybe-so-not-elusive goal of obtaining a full collection, which is estimated at more than 1,150 from the roughly 19 public private and charter high schools that have taught Jersey City teens since the early 1900s.
Currently, there are over 650 yearbooks in this ever-growing collection for the NJ Room.
Harris has decided to extend the reach of this yearbook search, including all of the communities of Hudson County with emphasis on North Hudson. All these books are being used to create – through the hard work of volunteers – a database of everyone who ever graduated in Hudson County. The list contains over 125,000 names and continues to grow. The library accepts volunteers to input names into library databases.
The NJ Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Main Library, 472 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City. For more information, call: (201) 547-4503 or email: charris@jclibrary.org
