Funeral services were held June 26 at St. Lawrence Church in Weehawken for Rene Roa Sr., 58, of Weehawken. He passed away June 23. He was born in Cuba and lived for many years in Weehawken. Rene was a police officer for the Weehawken Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Weehawken PBA and the Fraternal Order of Policemen. Rene was the husband of Rosemary Roa and the father of Rene Roa Jr. and his wife Alison. He was the brother of Reyaldo Roa and the grandfather of Juliet and Rene Roa III.
