The “Jersey Shore” spinoff, “Snooki & Jwoww,” premiered last Thursday, June 21 on MTV. Since it was flimed in Jersey City, we’ve asked our talented intern, Yarleen Hernandez, to do some recaps. Here’s the first:
The episode starts off with Jwoww (Jen) and Snooki (Nicole) expressing their desire to move out of their present homes and live together before their ages and relationships take over.
“Nicole and I are moving in together ’cause I’m turning 30 in a couple of years and that’s it,” says Jwoww. “Thirty is my limit. So I have three years for like a bucket list to get everything done.”
While Nicole and her mom discuss her decision to live with Jen in Jersey, her mom reminds her that living with someone means having to do laundry, go grocery shopping, and clean the house. “It’s not your forte,” warns Mommy Snooki.
In a classic Snooki airhead moment, she refers to Jwoww as “kosher” because of her healthy diet. Her mom says that that isn’t what kosher means, but Snooki responds, “See, I think kosher food is like organic, healthy food and Jewish people eat organic food too, so I feel like it’s all the same.”
It is revealed that Snooki has yet to tell Jenni about her two “big” secrets.
Jenni and Roger talk about her moving out with Snooki. “I don’t want any regrets in life,” Jenni tells Roger during the episode. (But don’t you regret your silly nickname?) Roger seems skeptical about the decision and blatantly tells her it’s a bad idea. He reminds her that all Snooki does is get wasted and party; she doesn’t clean or cook.
Shocking.
But JWoww insists that the move will strengthen her and Snooki’s relationship.
Snooki’s dad tries to help her with her finances and she quickly and childishly disregards what he says. If she loses electricity, she says, “I’ll just turn on candles like the Amish people do.” At least she didn’t confuse them with the Jews.
Jenni begins searching for the perfect apartment in Jersey City (because the mayor of Hoboken didn’t want MTV filming there). This proves to be quite difficult as she’s met with a couple of obstacles. From a confused Realtor to a tardy one, Jwoww and Snooki quickly realize that grown-up life might be harder to handle than they imagined.
After many disappointments, Jenni and Snooki agree that the converted former firehouse between Mercer and Grove street is the perfect apartment for them. Probably pretty pricy, but not when MTV is paying their rent! They probably did Snooki’s laundry, too.
Before Jenni signs the lease, Snooki wants her to know the truth. Snooki reveals that she has been hiding something from Jenni for quite a while: Jionni proposed and they’re engaged.
But that’s not all. She’s pregnant.
Jenni, while being stunned and speechless, admits that she thought she’d be the first one to get engaged.
It seems like Jwoww will have her hands full with prego Snooki. There are 11 episodes left in the season. The next episode airs Thursday. Bet you can’t wait.
