With sincere gratitude

Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Little People of America – Garden State Chapter, I would like to thank Fred and Melissa Vogel for the hours of planning, organizing, promoting, blood, sweat and tears that went in to this year’s Annual Charity Run for LPA in memory of Fred’s brother, Mark Vogel. Mark was a member of our LPA family and his loss 11 years ago was devastating, not only to LPA, but to the Town of Secaucus. Words cannot express the sincere gratitude the Garden State Chapter has for everyone who was so giving of their time, energy and funds. I was lucky enough to experience just how generous the people of Secaucus are a few weeks back during your Memorial Day Parade. I was with Fred Vogel and his family when he was promoting our Memorial Charity Run for Mark on the street that day. So many people, including Mayor Michael Gonnelli, stopped by in support of the event.
And again on June 2nd the people of Secaucus came out in support of the memorial run. We also had support from the Thunder Motorcycle Club, the Secaucus Fire Department, the State Police and so many local volunteers. It was truly an inspirational day that our members will not forget. With the money raised, we will hold our annual summer event at Black Bear Lake in Millstone Twp, NJ and we are also looking in to a day at Six Flags Great Adventure. We will also be able to continue our tradition of a winter gathering to be held in January. These events are so special to our members because it’s a time where they can relax and enjoy each other’s company and also discuss issues they are facing with people who can understand or have been through similar situations.
