Outstanding Alumni to be proud of

Dear Editor:
On May 10, 2012 the Emerson High School Alumni Association held its 21st Annual Dinner to a packed enthusiastic house.
Once again, led by our wonderful, caring, and devoted President Nick “Whizzer” Mastorelli, a four time Hall of Famer who has always given credit to this outstanding committee. We have just heard that the “Whizzer” was nominated to the Collegiate Umpire Hall of Fame. We are all proud of this gentlemen.
This Alumni Association has given out, including this year, a total of 185 scholarships to deserving students of Union City High School.
This committee includes a Whose-Who of Emerson High School. Nick Whizzer” Mastorelli, its founder Barnett Schulman, Santo Corso, John Mangiante, Roger Schmitt, Jim Lagomarsino, Oscar Cordero, and Steve “Doc” Calvo. They always thank all of the people who attend and make this function the best Alumni Dinner in the Tri-State Area, if not, in all the county.
Many former alumni fly in from all parts of the U.S. to make this worth-while function outstanding.
They enjoy seeing and talking about old time high school memories with each other.
Nick “Whizzer” Mastorelli an All American basketball player at The University of Vermont, a pro-baseball player, and now a Hall of Fame Baseball Umpire is expected to lead the Alumni Association next year. He has stated that the 2013 dinner will be bigger and better than last year. His leadership has been know to be great and many former Alumni has stated that he is the straw that stirs the committee and make it what it is.

Respectively
Barnett Schulman
