Dear Editor:
What? You mean to tell us that a man stole well over a million dollars in coins from Hoboken’s parking meters between 2005 and 2008, and nobody caught him? (Hoboken Reporter, May 3). A million dollars! That’s a lot of coins that went missing. Nobody in City Hall supervised this man? Isn’t there a rough monthly average of the coins turned in, which, if drastically reduced, would arouse suspicion? Maybe if City Hall wasn’t so busy writing tickets for cars parked a couple of feet past the painted-yellow curbs (which robbed us of four parking spaces per block) they could keep a closer watch on the important things.
