To the Editor:
I would like to give my sincere thanks to Adelaide Laurie and Phyllis Melito, the former president and vice president of the Hudson County Animal League. These two ladies donated countless numbers of hours and food, and put numerous animals in “fur”-ever homes. I have enjoyed working with the both of them and having them as friends, and I am sorry to see them both go.
My only low point with them is their agreeing to hold off resigning from the league before the newly-elected Board of Directors started to work together. Then they handed in their resignation by dropping it off in a mailbox without giving anyone a chance to make changes.
Ladies, I wish the both of you the best with whatever you choose to do from here.
