Sending Payne to D.C.

Dear Editor:
When it comes to the name Donald Payne, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Payne Jr. is running for Congress in the 10th District in which Jersey City has 20 percent of. The date is June 5th so circle your calendar. His father Donald Payne Sr. needs no introduction. He earned the respect of both local and world leaders and his son will follow the example set as he was there with his Dad all along the way.
In his own right, Donald Payne Jr. will not back down from those that seek tax breaks for the rich at the expense of the middle class. His friendly relationship with President Obama will assist in creating health care for Jersey City residence. With his experience, he can make sure Jersey City receives what it deserves in real federal dollars pulling in jobs for those that desperately need them, allowing our economy and community to grow.
Mr. Payne supports Planned Parenthood as well as Medicare and Social Security for Senior Citizens. For those Senior Citizens, this is so critical to their lives worth living.
Donald Payne Jr. is a family man who cares about other families as it shows in his work. After school activities for children are a priority as he pushes non profits to do the best they can for the kids that are our future. He helped restructure vocational schools so that our youth will be job ready while adults can be trained for the work force. He has been a leader willing to bring jobs and business to our area. A founder of a job training program in nearby Newark, Payne Jr focused on the hospitality industry, one that helps accumulate college credits for those that take part. Under his watch, nearly 150 affordable units for senior citizens have come to fruition. He introduced state of the art technology to protect residence from drug dealers and violent crime.
Above all, Donald Payne Jr is a fair person who believes that opportunity is at the door. Through hard work, that door opens and good things can be accomplished when one gets a chance to walk through it. Donald Payne Jr. is good for Jersey City. It’s obvious. June 5 th is the day Jersey City gets a chance to send him to Washington D.C. so it can reap the rewards while having a partner for true positive change.
