Dear Editor:
On Thursday, April 26th, 2012 The Hoboken High School Emergency Response Team hosted their annual blood drive. Every year, a HHS Emergency Response Team member hosts a student driven blood drive. This year, it was Senior Natasha Rivera who stepped up to the challenge and coordinated the event.
Natasha reached out to many of Hoboken’s finest eateries for donations to support the drive and to the Blood Center of NY/NJ to assist with the event.
Due to Natasha’s outstanding efforts in obtaining such a great array of food; students, staff, alumni, and the community were able to enjoy a good meal after their donations.
A representative from the NY/NJ Blood services reminded us that it is high school and college students who are the main source of blood donors today.
The Hoboken High School Emergency Response Team would like to thank to following local businesses for all their assistance and the generous donations: Benny Tudinos, Blimpie, Bajas, Puerto of Spain, Giorgio Bakery, and D’s Soul Food Café. We would also like to thank the many people who donated blood and helped save many lives.
