Hoboken music and arts fair draws big crowds

HOBOKEN – The annual Music & Arts Fair drew thousands of strollers and art and music fans to downtown Hoboken on Sunday.
After an iffy start to the day the weather cooperated and the skies opened up to a seasonably warm, sunny day under a dome of deep blue sky.
Hundreds of booths lined either side of Washington Street from Observer Highway to Sixth Street displaying arts and crafts and offering a wide variety of foods.
The event was co-sponsored by the Hudson Reporter.
While kids entertainers kept the young ones wide-eyed, music acts took to three separate stages and filled the air with the sounds of bluegrass, pop and rock music.
Headlining the musical offerings were The db’s, reunited after a 25 year recording hiatus, fresh from completing their first album in over two decades.
Art booths offered everything from sculptures to photography and poster art and artisanal wares and a wide variety of clothing.
The yearly event is the traditional start of the summer season in the Mile Square City, bookended in the fall by the Artist’s Studio Tour.
