Services were held on May 1 for Edward J. Kearns, 80, lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was the son of the late Gertrude and James Kearns; father of Eileen Restivo and her husband Tony, Joanne McGillis and her late husband Robert, John Kearns and his wife Patty, Susan Kearns, Brian Kearns and Michele Peduto, Edward Kearns and their mother Adele Kearns; grandfather of Billy and Joyce Sloan, Shannon and Devon McGillis, Jay Kearns, Kelly and Adam Johnson, Alexis Kearns, Brianna and Kaitlyn Sara Kearns, Skylar Blue and Allie Kearns, and the late Danny James Perry; great-grandfather of nine; brother of Jackie Thompson, Eleanore and Jack Burke, Joan Ciecura, and the late James and Thomas Kearns; longtime friend of Louise Tamburri; second father of Betty Jean Donnelly. Funeral arrangements were by the Greenville Memorial Home. Cremation, Rosehill Crematory.
