Former CEO of Hoboken company sentenced to 27 months in prison

HOBOKEN — The former chief executive officer and sole owner of First Priority Pay of Hoboken was sentenced to 27 months in prison Wednesday for trying to evade tax payments, according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
Jerry Carter Jr., 33, of Hillsborough, previously admitted to failing to provide true, correct, and complete information regarding earned income for 2007, 2008, and 2009. This resulted in a tax loss to the United States of approximately $476,832, according to the state attorney general’s office. –Stephen LaMarca
