JERSEY CITY – This Wednesday, in recognition of National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, St. Peter’s College will co-host a symposium in conjunction with the office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at the Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership. The theme of the conference is “Extending the
Vision: Reaching Every Victim.” New Jersey State Attorney General Jeff Chiesa will be the keynote speaker.
The purpose of the symposium is to create an environment which promotes advocacy and awareness of victims’ rights. The event will consist of two panel discussions and opportunities to network with local victim service providers.
The Victim-Witness Advocacy Unit of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has recognized National Crime Victim’s Right’s Week for more than 25 years through annual events and special programming. This year, Victim-Witness unit is collaborating with the Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership at Saint Peter’s College. The Guarini Lecture Series, established in 1994 by Rep. Frank Guarini, aims to provide a non-partisan forum for discussion of key public policy issues. The Institute sponsors lectures and programs throughout the academic year to promote critical thinking, debate, and careers in public service.
