HOBOKEN – The City Council approved the municipal 2012 calendar year budget Wednesday night on a 5-4 vote.
The $102.9 million amended budget includes a 3.6 percent cash surplus level and a $900,000 reduction in the municipal tax levy, a city spokesperson said.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer thanked the council majority, the city directors, and the finance department after the meeting.
“I am proud that our teamwork enabled the budget to be adopted in the shortest time frame in over a decade,” said Zimmer, “and will continue working to provide services as effectively and efficiently as possible.” –Stephen LaMarca
