St. Peter’s seniors exhibit thesis artworks

It’s senior thesis time, and graphic design and fine arts seniors at St. Peter’s College are putting their best works on display starting Thursday, April 19 in the Display Case Gallery in the Rankin Arts Center, second floor, at the corner of Montgomery Street and West Side Avenue.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception from 12 to 2 p.m. Admission to the gallery, an exhibition space devoted to the presentation of student artwork, is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The campus is easily reached by PATH train or other modes of public transportation.
“Pieces of Us” will be available for viewing until the closing reception on June 2 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The exhibit showcases works created in various computer programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress and Photography and Natural Media.

The artists
Alyssa Bredin is a native of Hoboken, New Jersey. Inspired by the works of Richard Avedon and William Wegman, she hopes to put her own mark on portrait and pet photography. Her work can be viewed at http://projects.spc.edu/abredin/.
Miray Can is preparing herself for life in the working world. With two internships under her belt, she has gained valuable experience and knowledge as a Graphic Designer.
Inspired by Japanese Art, Amanda Jaikissoon loves to create stunning and beautiful works of art. She hopes to one day illustrate a book and have it printed.
Precious Isip, an aspiring photographer, hopes for the world to see her reflection through her works of art.
Yvonne Madera, a student of graphic design, aspires to work in the fashion industry in the future.
Binh Nguyen believes that through art, people can change the world much more than they would have imagined.
Using his skills and past experiences, Jamal Spencer intends to form a blueprint that will inspire others in the future.
Justin Stroman, an aspiring writer and artist, has continued to stay committed to the mediums he likes and hopes to continue them in the future.
Vanttage Wooden has always seen graphic design as his calling. Honing his skills throughout college he stands ready to take on the future.
