KEARNY – A fire erupted in one of the maintenance trailers near the Hudson County Correctional in Kearny on Thursday at about 10:30 a.m.
Located at the south east corner of the parking lot, the trailer was considered a total loss.
According to Frank Pizzuta, Fire Marshal, the fire appears to have been caused accidently by a malfunctioning HVAC unit. A final determination will be issued in the coming days after consultation with the Kearny Fire Department.
