Save our 1892 Fire House! Re: What to keep and what to demolish. This proposal to possibly demolish the wonderful 1892 “Romanesque” fire house on Observer Highway is insane, and has to be stopped. I would like to know who is Mr. Hintz and the Hoboken Planning Board tipping their hat too? Possibly developers, who are given 10-20 year tax abatements! This is one reason why Hoboken is in the financial straits it’s in! This is why our taxes and rents keep going up! You and I as Hoboken residents and taxpayers can talk and protest all we want it ain’t gonna do a bit of good! Our town is all about private developers and what THEY want! That’s what seems to matter!
