New drama to preview in Hoboken before New York festival performance

On March 22, Hoboken theater lovers will get a first look at an original drama, “Secrets; Love” before its New York City performance in the 10th annual Downtown Urban Theater Festival on March 28, with a cast of mainly North Jersey actors.
Summer Dawn Hortillosa’s “Secrets; Love” is a tale set in a modern city about crimes of passion and the nature of love – how we feel it, how we express it and how it can be a powerful secret when hidden.
Performances will run from March 22 through 24 at 8 p.m. at the Monroe Center for the Arts, 720 Monroe St., Hoboken. Tickets are $15 for the March 23 and 24 performances, $10 for students and seniors with ID. Tickets are $10 for the Friends and Family Show on March 22, when priority will be given to cast and crew loved ones.
Depending on availability, prices for day-of-show tickets may be higher. Tickets can be purchased at www.SecretsLovePlay.com.
Some of the play’s themes – domestic abuse, forbidden love, crime – may not be suitable for audiences 13 and under. For more information, visit www.SecretsLovePlay.com.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
