Hoboken survives first Saturday in March and Leprecon; many arrests

HOBOKEN — The Leprecon bar crawl and the traditional day of the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Parade brought out thousands of partiers on Saturday to enjoy bars and house parties. Even though it rained in the morning and the parade was canceled for this year, businesses saw lines of customers, from the Bar at 10th and Willow down to Scotland Yard.
Police made numerous arrests. City Hall had stepped up the police presence and promised a zero tolerance policy for violations like public drinking. Fines can go as high as $2,000.
