A funeral service took place Feb. 9 for Carl Eugene Mockert. He passed away Feb. 5 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was the brother to Gertrude and Walter; brother-in-law to Diana Mockert; and a uncle to his niece, Christine. Carl is survived by his aunt, Louise Hammerle, and uncle, Josef Mockart of Germany, and numerous cousins both here and in Germany. He was a skilled Tool and Die Maker and Master Machinist and in the later stages of his career, a partner in the firm of Indexing Technologies, Inc. Carl loved the outdoors, being a member of the Adirondack Mountain Airing Club and spent many enjoyable hours at Camp Nawakwa being an avid swimmer and hiker while enjoying the fellowship of the other members. He also loved outdoor concerts, traveling, cycling and helping other people. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
