Guttenberg PBA participates in Polar Bear Plunge

The Guttenberg Police Benevolent Association Local 88 is supporting the Polar Bear Plunge, an event sponsored by the New Jersey Special Olympics.
Participants will trudge into the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Seaside Heights at 1 p.m. Investigator Joseph Keselica of the Guttenberg Police Department is seeking contributions for his participation in the event. Interested parties can donate by searching for Joseph Keselica at the Sponsor Plunger page at www.njpolarplunge.org/.

Planning Board to hear Appleview again on Tuesday

North Bergen Town Hall at 4233 Kennedy Blvd. will host a Planning Board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The Appleview project is expected to be heard at the meeting. In December, a Hudson County Superior Court judge remanded the project back to the board, claiming that the board did not sufficiently determine whether safety considerations required by town law have been met.
A Board of Commissioners meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. in Town Hall.

Fundraising for the fire victims continues

A dodgeball tournament will be held Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at the North Bergen recreation center at 6300 Meadowview Ave. in order to raise money for the displaced families of last month’s fire on Broadway. The event will feature food, beverages, raffle, and more.
T-shirts will also be sold at the event. There is a $5 entry fee.
