Funeral mass took place Jan. 27 at Our Lady of Victories Church for Michael F. Munley, 84. He passed away at the Jersey City Medical Center on Jan. 23. Michael was born in Jessup, Pa., and had been a resident of Jersey City since 1948. He was employed as a manager of wire technology for Western Electric in Kearny for 35 years, retiring in 1985. A very active and longtime member of Our Lady of Victories Parish, Michael was Past President of OLV Holy Name Society and a member of the K of C and Telephone Pioneers of America. Michael was an Army veteran of WW II and had been a chauffeur for a general while at Nuremberg. After his duty in the Army, he then spent six years in the Naval Reserve. He is survived by his wife Mary Munley; father of Mark Munley and wife Tricia and Dean Munley and wife Cheryl AllenMunley; brother of Joseph Munley of Conn.; and grandfather of Tristan, Marguerite and Stefka Munley.
