A funeral mass was offered Jan. 31 at St. Francis R.C. Church, Hoboken for Laura De Candia, 74. She passed away in the presence of her daughters on Jan. 28 at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck. Born in Molfetta, Italy, Laura came to Hoboken in 1966 and lived there until 1980 moving to Weehawken where she resided until the time of her death. A retired seamstress for Park Fashions in Hoboken, Mrs. De Candia was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mrs. De Candia was predeceased by her late husband Giuseppe in June of 2000. She was also predeceased by a brother Mauro Mezzina. She shall be missed by her three daughters, Nicoletta Reckhow and her husband William, Margherita Diaz and her husband Ralph, and Giovanna Caswell and her fiancé Anthony. The greatest joys in her life were her three grandchildren, Nicola, Giuseppe and Michael. Also surviving is a sister Rosa Mezzina. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
