A funeral mass was offered Jan. 19 at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church in Hoboken for Margaret Piretra-Foley, 82, known by many as Margie. She passed away at her residence on Jan. 16. She was a life-long Hoboken resident. Margaret was a retired crossing guard for the City of Hoboken. Prior to that Margie may be remembered as one of the waitresses in the “Town Lunch,” formally located on Third and Washington in Hoboken. She will be missed by her daughter Eileen Foley, and her son Thomas Foley and his wife Eileen. A great joy in Margaret’s life were her five grandchildren: Heather, Dennis, Eileen, Michael, and Christine, and her two great-grandchildren: Zoe and Zachary. Also surviving is her sister: Marie Vroegops and a sister-in-law: Mary Ferrante. Margie was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2010, and three sons: Michael, Bernard, and Dennis.
