Dear Editor:
The wave of crimes in Hudson County has increased, and the notion of public safety is skeptical. We in this county and country in a large manner are facing some tough times. And our elected leaders are out of touch, or posturing for power and control.
Recently, top political pundits have made a power list of people in Hudson County. Many of those in the larger part of the community don’t agree with the list. And I write to the community calling for a year of action. I am writing this letter to inspire those who seek change in the political land scope to come out in unity. If you’re a Republican (moderate or conservative) Hudson County needs you in one united front. If you’re a Democrat (Liberal or progressive) Hudson County needs you in one united front. And if you’re an independent, advocate in Hudson County need you in one front. The County needs your passion and visions to better ensure public safety or our citizens.
Who am I? My name is Omar Dyer (public advocate in Hudson County) through DNC (Democratic National Committee) DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) and the founder of the political action committee called Coaches! 101 which is in charge of The Next Generation of Leaders Movement! I am calling out on Republicans in Hudson County to put their differences aside to combat a serious issue we have with jobs, crime, plus youth education. And I am calling out on the Democratic elected leaders, to stop posturing for notable power, and use the offices you currently hold to spring board a healthy environment that talks about social change. And for those that have independent views (such as myself) who vote on people that run, and not the party that are affiliated with.
Hudson County needs that voice, in public meetings, block associations, and other venues where we can bring a community together. Now during the last decade, our leadership has failed. With the newly re-organized districts, Hudson County is the 8th district that complies within its own. This is the time to come together, as one county fighting for the survival of the county. I ask you to join me Omar Dyer, in 2012 to fight for Hudson County’s future.
Thank you,
Omar Dyer
