BAYONNE — An emergency repair to a damaged valve in the vicinity of West 33rd Street and Avenue A necessitates a shutdown of water service in Bayonne neighborhoods. The shutdown was expected to commence at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 and extend into the early evening hours. However, officials expected service to be restored early in the evening.
The Bayonne Department of Public Safety has established a “fire watch” in the area. Area residents may wish to fill several vessels with water prior to the shutdown for use during this time period.
