Housing Authority hosts parties for seniors

During the week of Dec. 13, the Hoboken Housing Authority hosted holiday parties at its three senior citizen complexes located across the city. Residents were treated to a buffet of Latin American and Italian cuisine as well as cookies, cake and coffee.
Each night, the residents were entertained by a DJ and a special performance by Angel Alicea, the city’s former public safety director, who sang Frank Sinatra favorites and holiday songs, and 14-year-old resident Nyesha Moore, who performed holiday music on her guitar.
Councilwoman Beth Mason and Councilman Tim Occhippinti donated gift cards and desserts, Joe and John Angiolillo of ICCO Cheese, based in Orangeburg, N.Y., donated Ronzoni bread crumbs and parmesan cheese, and Freeholder Anthony Romano and Pauline’s Chocolates supplied even more sweet treats.
