Many thanks to Horace Mann School

To the Editor:
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, Horace Mann School opened their doors and their hearts to the senior community in Bayonne. They sponsored a senior breakfast for the holidays. Many of us from the 27th Street Leisure Club attended. We were greeted and escorted to the lunch room by very well-dressed young ladies and gentlemen. They took our coats and seated us with an individual “host.” They asked us questions about our childhood and education and how we were raised. They were very attentive to our needs, getting us coffee, water and juice.
Then we were treated to an elaborate breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes. There was also a variety of cookies, muffins and bagels to enjoy. We each made a Christmas wreath to remember the day. We each received a lovely gift and a “goodie bag” with treats and candy canes. We were then escorted upstairs for a brief concert from the angelic pre-k class.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the principal Mrs. Quinn, the teachers, the contributors and workers, and especially the eighth graders and pre-k students who made a very special holiday for us. Thanks a million.
