Save residents money

Dear Editor:
Team Walker continues with its mission to improve the community of Jersey City. While the main concern remains educating the Team Walker kids, the non-profit organization now aims to save residents of Jersey City money by weatherizing housing in need of repair. Eligible residents in Jersey City can receive free assistance to lower their home energy bills through the weatherization assistance and home energy programs. The Weatherization Assistance Program has been made possible by the State of New Jersey and the Federal Government to help improve energy efficiency in homes and apartments. The Team Walker staff accepted the duty of marketing and outreach to all eligible residents of Jersey City. Eligible residents include low-income families, elderly, handicapped, and single-parent households. Homes also receive a thorough evaluation of the heating system as well as health and safety testing of all combustion appliances. Local licensed and insured private-sector weatherization contractors complete the work at no cost to the residents. Visit the Team Walker website to learn more about how this program can benefit you or other residents of Jersey City or call Team Walker headquarters and ask for Sal or Ricardo at (201)433-1888.
