Hoboken’s own SantaCon set for Dec. 17

HOBOKEN – Get ready, Hoboken, Santas from around the area will descend upon Washington Street and neighboring bars on Dec. 17 for a day of jolly (or maybe not so jolly) drinking, starting at 1 p.m.
The bar crawl starts at S. Sullivan’s at Sixth and Washington streets at 1 p.m. – or the Pilsner House on Grand Street at noon for pre-registration. The Santas will make their way down Washington Street throughout the day, stopping at bars along the way.
Approximately 150 people were confirmed guests on the Hoboken SantaCon Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/events/189715564452643/) as of Friday morning.
On Dec. 10, New York City held their SantaCon, but the partying seemed to spill over into Hoboken, causing at least one local resident to write to The Reporter to complain about the, um, tradition (see this weekend’s letters).
All donations and a portion of each bar’s proceeds will benefit the Hoboken Family Alliance, according to a release from HFA.
