Five men convicted for operating ‘heroin mill’ out of WNY home

WEST NEW YORK AND BEYOND — According to Attorney Paul J. Fishman, who is quoted in a press release from the NJ District Attorney’s office, 20-year-old Joan Manuel Pina Dominguez — also known as “Christian Colon” — pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiring to operate a heroin manufacturing and distributing mill from a West New York home.

Dominguez, from Lawrence, Mass., pleaded guilty in Newark federal court to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute heroin. This plea followed the guilty pleas to the same indictment of four co-conspirators: David Antonio (30) and Antonio Aquino (26), both from the Bronx; Jorge Guerra Ventura (32) from New York, and Sandy Antonio (35), a.k.a. “Alejandro Valdez,” from West New York, NJ.

All five men are citizens of the Dominican Republic without legal status in the United States, according to the press relase, and face deportation upon completion of any imposed prison term.

Dominguez is scheduled for sentencing on April 11, 2012, and the other four are scheduled for sentencing on March 1, 2012.
