A mass of Christian burial was held Dec. 4 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City for Raymond “Ray Ray” Rivera, 23, formerly of Bayonne. He passed away Dec. 1. Born in Jersey City, Raymond moved to Bayonne and was a 2006 graduate of Bayonne High School. While attending Bayonne High School, he played varsity baseball for four years as catcher, and was honored with the role of captain in his senior year. After graduation, Raymond attended Lincoln Tech where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He worked for Strauss Stores for the last three years as a Mechanic. Raymond is survived by his parents, Carlos and Dora (nee Silva) Rivera; brothers, Carlos, David and Anthony; girlfriend Yosmery Brito; paternal grandfather Francisco Rivera; maternal grandmother Carmen Torres; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
