Dogtopia Daycare offers dog treats with proceeds to benefit The Windmill Alliance

One of the activities happening at The Windmill Alliance Adult Day Program is having their participants make homemade dog biscuits. Oftentimes, these treats are sold at Windmill’s monthly flea market, and have become a favorite among the neighborhood hounds.
The Rev. Gregory Perez, the president of The Windmill Alliance, said, “My beloved American cocker spaniels Charlie Bucket and Willie Wonka love these tasty, homemade treats. The doggie treats are all natural, made from flour, cheese, vegetable oil, and water.”
When Donna Ostrowski and Elise Tomczak, the proprietors of Dogtopia Daycare, heard about this unique activity, they were quick to offer their business as an additional outlet for consumers to obtain this yummy treat for their dogs. Treat bags are available at Dogtopia for a suggested donation of $2.
Donna said, “Windmill’s treats will make a great stocking stuffer this holiday season. I hope all of Bayonne’s dog owners will keep this in mind when shopping for their pups.”
Alice Kulik, manager of The Windmill Center, added, “One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to The Windmill Alliance to support the work of The Windmill Center.”
Fr. Greg Perez credits Joanne Northgrave, a customer of Dogtopia Day Care who is employed at The Hudson County Office of Disability Services, with the idea of expanding the distribution of the doggie treats. Originally conceived and created as a give-away for Trinity Parish’s Blessing of the Animals in October, the excess treats from the event were donated to Dogtopia and they were such a success that Dogtopia is now a regular outlet.
Elise said, “We are so pleased to be able to offer these dog treats at Dogtopia and help The Windmill Alliance. It’s such a small way to make a big difference.”
Dogtopia is located 188-190 Ave. E and is open seven days a week. For additional information about Dogtopia, call (201) 437-WOOF (9663) or visit www.dogdaycare.com.
