NY Times covers case of Hobokenite Vesselin Dittrich

HOBOKEN AND BEYOND — Two weeks ago, the Hoboken Reporter carried a cover story about resident Vesselin Dittrick, who was fighting a fine in court because he refused to tell a Port Authority police officer what country he was born in. (Answer: Bulgaria, but he’s a citizen.)
On Monday, the New York Times covered the case. The American Bar Association Journal then picked it up Tuesday.
An excerpt from the Times coverage:

The case, which has been reported on by The Hoboken Reporter, is now expected to go to trial in mid-December.
It is Mr. Dittrich’s suspicion that the summons is being pursued because of his steadfast activism. “I think there is something more than just the charge,” he said.
Born in Varna, Bulgaria, the son of a shipbuilding-plant manager and a housewife, Mr. Dittrich came to the United States in 1987.
