A mass of Christian burial was offered Nov. 23 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Gerald O. Imbimbo. He passed away peacefully on Nov. 15 in Mooresville, N.C., surrounded by his family. Born in Union City, Gerald was a longtime resident of Weehawken before moving to North Carolina with his family in 2004. A retired employee of the United States Post Office after 32 years, Gerald later worked as a doorman at the Troy Towers Apartments in Union City for six years. A little league coach in Weehawken for more than 30 years, he impacted many young lives. A Military Police Officer during World War II, Mr. Imbimbo was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Imbimbo shall be missed by his wife Ida (nee Avitabile); a son Gerald Imbimbo and a daughter Angela Januszkiewicz; his grandchildren, Tara Synder, Gina Morcom, Brianna Januszkiewicz, Olivia Imbimbo, Kaitlyn Januszkiewicz and Michael Imbimbo; four great grandchildren, Chase, Wyatt, Sophia and Brody; and two brothers, Albert and Sam. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
