‘Thank you, volunteers’

To the Editor:
Recently the volunteers at the Giordano Food Pantry, located at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, held our annual Fall Fling Fundraiser to benefit the pantry. Due to the wonderful efforts of the volunteers, patrons, and attendees, we were able to raise over $6,000. This money will help us supply bags of food to the poor and needy families in our community throughout the winter months.
We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to our sponsors who donated towards our event. These include a $1,000 donation from Bayonne Medical Center, CEO Mr. Kane, Sacalis Florist, Nicaretta Construction Co., Mayor Mark Smith, Dr. Jack Smith, Carol Ann Migliaccio, Dr. Ibrahim of N.J. Spine & Pain Institute, Inserra Supermarkets, Associates in Cardiovascular Care, and our many parishioners, friends and supporters at O.L.A. Church.
These wonderful, caring and loving people gave their all, including their money, time and hard work, to make this the best fundraiser to date. Although we cannot name every single individual, you know who you are, and we hope you will accept our love and thanks for a job very well done.
Last, but not least we must thank our humble and patient pastor, Rev. Joe Barbone, for his help and support during our event. Thanks for putting up with our crazy ideas every year, Fr. Joe. May God bless you all!
