Drivers allegedly fight at shopping center

Police responded to an incident at 4:53 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 after receiving a tip that a fight was in progress at the shopping center at 88th and Tonnelle Avenue, police say.
According to police, two men were driving near the shopping center and became engaged in a verbal argument. After the two men exited their vehicles, the assailant allegedly picked up a rock from the side of the road and struck the victim in the head, according to Lt. Patrick Irwin.
Upon arriving on the scene, the responding officer allegedly found a victim bleeding from an injury. North Bergen Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Palisades Medical Center for further treatment, police say.
Kenneth Gago, 25, Fairview, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. Bail was set at $10,000, according to police.

Abandoned warehouse allegedly ransacked

Officers on a routine patrol noticed an open door at the abandoned Pathmark building at Tonnelle Avenue and 69th Street on the afternoon of Nov. 10, police say.
According to Lt. Patrick Irwin, officers entered the property and heard noise coming from the rear. They said they spotted Joel DeJesus Diaz, 19, of West New York, and a juvenile allegedly carrying two backpacks.
Police said they believe Diaz was allegedly stripping copper pipes from the building. Diaz was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, and theft by unlawful taking. Bail was set at $2,500, according to police.
