Caught in the act

Two North Bergen men were arrested on Monday, Oct. 24 after allegedly burglarizing a home near Bergenline Avenue, police say.
According to Lt. Patrick Irwin, the homeowner was driving a family member to the airport and realized he had forgotten something at home. When the homeowner returned to the residence at approximately 1 p.m., he noticed that the gate was open. He then closed the gate and went inside the house.
The passenger, who remained in the vehicle, told police he observed a man walking out of the backyard allegedly carrying a satchel of burglary tools. The passenger attempted to stop the man, who fled the scene.
The driver and passenger then allegedly spotted the same man and his alleged partner at 83rd Street and Bergenline Avenue. It was reported to an officer working a construction detail, police say.
According to police, Mark Polo and Armando Garcia were arrested after 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24. They were charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Polo was also charged with possession of burglary tools. Bail was set at $50,000.
