Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at St. John the Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Joseph J. Micoli, 78. He passed away Sept. 19th, at the Regency Gardens Center, Wayne. Born in Jersey City he was a lifelong resident. Joe was a US Army veteran serving from 1953 to 1955 in the Medical Corps as an Ophthalmic Technician. From 1955-1987 he worked for several Optical Companies in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. He held positions as high as Chief Optician and oversaw the development of flats, mirrors and prisms for laser applications. He retired as a self-employed Optical Production Consultant to various firms. He was a member of the Columbus Democratic Club of Downtown Jersey City. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Angelina Rose (Palumbo) and his brother Anthony “Tony” Macola. Services arranged by the Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home, Jersey City.
