BAYONNE BRIEFS

Another arrest in Strucinski beating

Police arrested the 18-year-old brother of a suspect in the July 3 beating of Dawid Strucinski, charging him with hindering an investigation by allegedly lying to the police about the location of his 15-year-old brother while he was being sought.
The 15-year-old apparently left the United States shortly after the beating that left Strucinski in a coma.
“We arrested the brother on Aug. 17 at about 9:27 p.m.” said Deputy Police Chief Ralph Scianni.
Nine people have been charged with direct involvement in the early-morning fight that resulted in Strucinski’s injuries. This is the second arrest against someone for allegedly trying to protect suspects in the case.
