WHERE IS Randy “Amanda” Lehrer? Police still searching for missing mom in Jersey City; co-worker says: ‘It’s a sad thing’

JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — A new mother in Jersey City has been missing for over a week, and police say they are getting calls from media outlets across North America seeking more information, but they don’t have anything new to report.
Co-workers of Randy “Amanda” Lehrer at Tommy’s Restaurant on Central Avenue in Jersey City became concerned last week after she failed to show up for work. The Jersey City police held a press conference this past Friday and said that so far, Lehrer’s husband refused to be interviewed without an attorney present.
The couple’s 10-month-old daughter has reportedly been staying with Lehrer’s husband’s parents.
This morning, a police spokesman said no new details were available for release. He said the department has been beseiged by phone calls from media outlets all over America and Canada, and they’ll update all outlets at once if new details emerge, rather than answer specific questions before then.
The spokesman declined to comment on who exactly reported Lehrer missing.
Donna, an employee of Tommy’s Restaurant and a co-worker of Lehrer, said Tuesday that she also had not heard any new details on the case. She said that Lehrer’s mother and sister have come down from Canada to help search.
“It’s a sad thing,” she said.
Residents are planning to hand out flyers with Lehrer’s photo on Wednesday evening and have invited volunteers to help out, according to a published article. They will be gathering at the Jersey City Police Department North District, 282 Central Ave., at 7 p.m.
