A funeral liturgy was performed Aug. 9 at St. Mary’s Church in Middletown for William Reardon, 83. He passed away at Bayshore Community Hospital on Aug. 5 with his family at his side. He was born in Jersey City, and married in 1960 at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church. He moved to Middletown in 1968. He worked as an Operating Engineer, Local 825, for many years and then for the US Postal Service in Jersey City until his retirement in 1990. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1000. He was predeceased by his sister Anna and two brothers, James and Francis. He is survived by his wife Edna O. Reardon; his two daughters, Edna Mary Chiarella of Fair Haven and Francine M. Bavaro of Middletown, and four grandchildren, John and Laura Chiarella and Chris and Rebecca Bavaro.
