Findings from investigation into Arturo Gatti’s death to be revealed Aug. 30

At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, the findings of an 10-month investigation surrounding boxing legend Arturo Gatti’s death will be revealed at a press conference in the Global Boxing Gym at 5601-5711 Tonnelle Ave. in North Bergen.
Three-time world champion Arturo Gatti, who has lived in Jersey City, was found dead in his apartment in Brazil on July 11, 2009 at the age of 37. Authorities at first incarcerated his widow on suspicion of murder, but she was released when Brazilian police ruled his death a suicide. The investigation was put forth by Pat Lynch, Gatti’s manager.

North Bergen pool will hold annual luau

On Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m., the North Bergen Pool at 2111 91st St. will hold their annual luau. This year’s luau will have a Western theme.
Advanced ticket prices for members are $5 for children ages 12 and under and $10 for adults. Advanced ticket prices for guests are $10 for children ages 12 and under and $15 for adults. Youth Football Registration during the month of August

Registration for North Bergen Youth Football and Cheerleading is currently taking place at 6300 Meadowview Ave. during the month of August or until teams or full. Boys ages 7 to 14 and girls ages 5 to 11 are invited to sign up.
Registration will take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Recreation Office as well as 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lou Piantadosi Youth Center.

Guttenberg Summer Concert series will conclude with final show

The Guttenberg Summer Concert series will conclude with a final show on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 71st street and JFK Boulevard East.
The concert will feature Emil Stucchio & the Classics, a trio from Brooklyn, New York.
