A funeral was held Aug. 5 for Hortense O. DuBose, 70. She passed away July 29. She was a retired teacher of 39 years in the Jersey City public school system and member of Phi Delta Kappi. She was the daughter of the late David Oliver and Emma Vaughn; sister of Abraham Oliver and the late Macy Oliver and Delores Richburg; cousin of Evonne Jones; godmother of Joe L. Johnson; friend of Dorothy Wigfall and Marjorie McDaniel; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Cotton-Parker Funeral Home, Jersey City.
