UNION CITY AND BEYOND — According to a local news story, late on Saturday evening a Union City police officer apparently shot a man who allegedly was brandishing a gun on 29th Street after the man was denied entrance to a local club on 32nd street and Bergenline Avenue.
The story said that the man allegedly brandished the gun to club security guards. When a police officer demanded that he drop the gun, he allegedly failed to comply.
According to county prosecutor, the county’s homicide squad is investigating the incident.
The names of the officer and the man in the incident were not released, according to media sources.
