BAYONNE AND BEYOND – The Bayonne police arrested two more suspects in the July 3 beating that left a 22-year old man in a coma for almost a week.
With five teens already in custody in pursuit of suspects in the July 3 beating that left Dawid Strucinski in a coma, the police made a sixth arrest of a 15 year-old Bayonne boy at noon on July 12, and another 15 year-old boy at about 1 a.m. on July 13. Both were charged with riot and endangering the health of an injured person. The first was released to the custody of his mother; the second was remanded to the Hudson County Youth Detention Center in Secaucus.
Police Deputy Chief Ralph Scianni said the police are seeking two more suspects, another 15-year-old boy who faces charges of aggravated assault, rioting, and endangering the health of an injured person, and an 18-year-old Bayonne man, Derrick Hilton, who faces charges of allegedly rioting and endangering the health of an injured person.
As for the two boys who were recently captured, sources reported that detective units sat outside one boy’s house for more 30 hours waiting for him to return home.
“The Investigation is very active and on going, and we’re doing due diligence, that will bring to it to a logical conclusion,” Scianni said. “We have a number of detective teams furthering the investigation and pursuing other avenues, and we consult the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office on a daily basis.”
