A funeral mass was held June 24 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City, for Patrick D. Pompeo, 83. He died June 21 at Jersey City Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, he was proprietor of Tony’s Confectionary on West Side Ave., Jersey City, for 32 years. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and White Tail Rod and Gun Club. Son of the late Marie (Libertelli) and Peter J. Pompeo, he is the husband of Nettie LeFante Pompeo. He is also the father of Marie Pompeo Maffia and her husband Robert and grandfather of his twin grandsons, Robert Patrick and Anthony Joseph Maffia.
