New traffic nightmare for pool members

To the Editor:
Thank you for your article about our town pool – I have been a member since the very beginning, and enjoy it a lot.
When my children were young, we were also members of the old pool complex.
There is one issue which I like to bring to your attention: Since the opening of Walmart and other establishments in that Mall, getting home from the pool has become a nightmare, including on Sundays, when all those places stay open in Hudson County.
There is only one way to exit and leave the town pool. There are several exits from the shopping mall and various restaurants, but we have no choice but take the one and only. We are trapped, because we need to converge with all that exiting traffic.
Furthermore, the green light is very short. If there are cars making a left turn on Tonnelle Avenue, and no one can pass by them to the right, only a couple of cars will make it during one green light.
Some folks are trying to cut through the Walmart parking, but those parking are full on a Sunday afternoon.
This is only the beginning of the season, but it can get nastier, later in the sweltering heat of the season, when people’s patience is getting thinner.
When the old pool was in operation, there were two exits.
I would like to publicly address this issue. Did anyone calculate the consequences of building, operating such establishments without taking into consideration the new traffic nightmare? Please find some solution for the pool members and employees trying to get home.
Please come down on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon to see what is going on.
