KUPFERBERG, JAIME LEON

Funeral services have been held for Jaime Leon Kupferberg. He passed away June 21. He was a husband to his late wife, Esther (nee Rosenthal). He is survived by his children, Sandra and Iris of North Bergen. He was a grandfather to his grandson, Beau. He was the son of the late David and Freida Kupferberg and brother to Samuel and the late Juan, all of Argentina, along with many nieces and nephews. Jaime was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He came to New Jersey when he was a teenager and lived with relatives. He worked in an embroidery factory and later joined the Army. During that time he met the love of his life, Esther, and was married on July 6, 1955. He attended Lincoln Tech in Newark, where he received his mechanics degree. He then worked on diesel engines on trucks in Secaucus. After that he started to establish his own car mechanic business along Tonnelle Avenue on Jersey City at a Sunoco gas station. Then he bought a house with a business underneath known as Jaime’s VW Specialist in 1966. He had customers from all over the United States and established many long term friendships with them. He was the staple of his neighborhood, lending a hand to everyone in need. He had two children, Sandra and Iris, early in his marriage. He had one wonderful grandson, Beau, who was his pride and joy. He also was a big animal lover to his kitty children, Milo and Abby. Services arranged by the Wien and Wien Memorial Chapels, Hackensack.
