A funeral mass was offered June 25 at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, for Gloria Marguerite DeMarco, Funeral Director and President of A. Scatuorchio and Son Inc., of Jersey City, and Newburgh, N.Y. She passed away at her home on June 20. She was the daughter of Antoinette (Scatuorchio) DeMarco and Frank L. DeMarco. She was the granddaughter of Antonia (Fina) Scatuorchio and Arcangelo Scatuorchio. As one of the granddaughters, she carried on the legacy of the funeral business that has been in existence for more than 115 years. Miss DeMarco will always be remembered for her lifelong dedication to serving families at their time of need. Gloria was a standard bearer of excellence in her field, equally demanding of herself and others. Miss DeMarco was a graduate of Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gloria was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and to Our Lady. She was an active resident in the downtown Jersey City community. Miss DeMarco is survived by many family members, especially her cousin Annette “Netta” Scatuorchio Amoroso, the descendants of Margaret Scatuorchio Zeho, Marjorie Scatuorchio Bonacarti, Nicholas P. Scatuorchio, Paschal DeMarco and Marguerite Bavasso DeMarco. Gloria is also survived by her many friends, in particular, Pat Long, Stanley Bonczek, Howie Wozniak, and Frank Smith, who she affectionately referred to as “Her Boys.” Services arranged by the Scatuorchio and Son Funeral Home, Jersey City.
